Or something like that. Drexel announced this to Dr. Lee yesterday as he was prepared to be really really brave. He went through his physical for school like a trooper. He was cooperative and he was really strong. He is showing good signs of growth. He's now 46.5 pounds and taller than 3 foot. He's not the tallest kid in his class but he's not the littlest either. Then it was time for his shots. He really did try to be a strong big boy. He did. However, with the 4 shots he got and the second set was really powerful. He cried....and was hurt and mad that it hurt. I felt really really bad but what can you do as a mom other than hold him down? Bad Mommie!! Grandma and I both cried with him and told him he was a big boy. It's hard to watch them hurt especially when you know it's on purpose. However instead he's getting a big surprise tonight, that he's been asking for non stop and he got a cool new pair of shoes. I think he's a little spoiled. :)

Go Cubs Go!!!
Well, Drexel enjoyed his very first Cubs game on Friday. What a day it was. We had lots of fun and well, some uncomfortable moments but Mommie can blog all day about that. I'll leave her in charge. :)

This is the beginning of the day with Breakfast at Johnny's in King Pin.
We then set off on our journey with 6 Cavallo busses and Drexel's first trip to Chicago and Wrigley Field. I made sure to pack the DVD player and plenty of snacks as this would be a long drive and one he wouldn't understand but I'd make sure he would be awake for the Michigan Ocean!
We pulled the busses in and he had called Grandma and Grandpa and told them all about seeing Michigan Ocean (My dad always calls it that because you can't see the other side from Lake Shore Drive) and then we were there. The Friendly Confines.
I didn't want my picture taken, but she took it anyway. Oh well.
The game itself remained a pitchers duel, so a little boring as a fan but a good game. We had a hot dog, a soda, bought stuff from the gift shop, and took pictures. Here's a few.
Well, that was the game. Then we stayed at the end...we sang Go Cubs Go! and then headed back home after our long outing at Wrigley Field. It didn't take long and here's what I found.

Cubs Tickets: $75/each
Hot dog and Soda: $20
Cubs Tshirt: $25
Seeing his first Cubs Victory at Wrigley: Priceless

Why can't you just stay here with us?
That was the question posed to Tom last night on the phone? Drexel really misses him. He talks about him constantly! It's great. I'm glad that he is so comfortable with him and that he really enjoys him being around. Of course the trips to McDonalds before school were a hit too. Tom was pretty upset at the question and I know it's not just for Drex and his Momma, but for his own kids too. It's a big deal for a little boy to not be able to see his buddy day in and day out. He got pretty used to it. He got used to playing Army guys in the bathtub. That's ok. We'll just use more sparklers and watch more fireworks and count down the weekends until his return. We're very excited about that. Only 26 more after this one!! Yay!!Wednesday, July 2, 2008
4th of July Fun

My Mom is pretty cool. She bought me sparklers to play with this week for the fourth of July! So...we go out every night just after the sun goes down and play with Sparklers! It's a lot of fun and I've never really done it before but now I'm getting really good. She said I can even use them while there are fireworks going off this weekend! I don't like the big boom sound when the fireworks go off but I sure do like to watch them!! I'm just learning about this Fourth of July thing. It's my Aunt Barb's birthday - is that why there are so many fireworks???
